When a reinstall is the right move

Some machines cannot be cleaned up. Years of software layered on software, leftover registry cruft, broken Windows Update states, and persistent infections can get a computer into a place where the only real fix is a clean reinstall. A fresh OS takes a tired machine that felt dead and gives it one more good life cycle.

Done right, a reinstall means no data loss, minimal app reconfiguration time, and a measurable performance jump. Done wrong, it means weeks of scrambling to find the files you thought you had backed up.

What you get

• Pre-reinstall inventory. We catalog installed applications, saved credentials, license keys, and user data so nothing gets missed.
• Full data backup. Documents, photos, videos, browser bookmarks, saved passwords, email archives, and application-specific data all backed up to external or cloud storage before we touch the OS.
• Clean OS installation. Windows 10 or 11, macOS, or Linux installed from official media. No bloatware. No vendor-packaged trials.
• Driver updates. Graphics, chipset, storage, network, and peripheral drivers installed at current stable versions.
• Essential software reinstall. Browser, email, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, password manager, and key business applications reinstalled and reconfigured.
• Data restore. Your documents, photos, and application data restored to logical locations.
• Security baseline. Endpoint protection, firewall, automatic updates, and backup solution configured before we hand it back.
• Post-install checklist. Written summary of what was installed, where data was restored, license keys used, and recommended next steps.

How we deliver

1. Scoping call. Understand the symptoms, the machine's age, and the priority data.
2. Backup session. Remote session to complete full data backup and inventory before anything is changed.
3. Reinstall. Fresh OS install. For remote-only reinstalls we provide step-by-step guidance over session; for supervised installs where the user prefers hands-off, we coordinate a secondary remote-admin approach.
4. Reconfigure and restore. Drivers, software, and data restored over remote session. Typically 2 to 4 hours depending on software count.
5. Verification. We confirm everything works, backups are running, and the user is comfortable with the new setup.

What makes this different

We do the inventory before the install, not after. Most "reinstall" services lose data because they skipped the pre-inventory step. Our written inventory is signed off by the client before we proceed, so there are no surprises.
